Little Elephant walks into a sunny forest. A fox peeks out from behind a tree, an owl blinks in a hollow and a deer steps quietly closer. There is a hollow log, a mushroom under a leaf, a bubbling stream and a winding path too. Listen for “A fox!” and “An owl!” and point to the forest friends together. Start with two or three words; pointing counts as joining in.

Point to the fox, the owl or the deer as you say A fox!, An owl! or A deer!. Tiptoe like a fox, blink like an owl, hop softly like a deer. On your next walk, spot a leaf, a path or a log and name it together. Pointing is enough, too.
给家长的小提示
注意 owl 前面说的是 an，不是 a：元音开头的词用 an。先不用讲规则，多听几遍“An owl!”就会自然记住。指一指、学一学动作都算参与，不用一次记住全部单词，愿意开口时再跟着说。
Notice “An owl!” uses “an” before a vowel sound. There is no need to explain the rule yet; hearing it a few times is enough. Pointing and acting are real participation, so there is no need to repeat every word. Speaking is welcome whenever your child is ready.
