街角的小玩具店里，小象发现每样东西都是三个：从倒下的篮子里滚出来的三个条纹球、铺在格子地板上的三只风筝、柜台上排成一排的三面小鼓、挂在木架上叮当响的三个铃铛、从纸袋里滑出来的三辆小汽车、举在手里的三顶派对帽、从架子上掉下来的三本书，还有鞋盒里的三只小雨靴——最后在地板上蹦一蹦：“Three hops!” 听一听“Three kites.”，和孩子一起数一数三个一样的东西。不用识字，也不用准备图卡。

给家长的小提示
“Three ___.” 用 three 说出有几个：两个或更多的时候，名字后面常常加 s，比如 kite 变成 kites、drum 变成 drums。一边指一边数 one, two, three，孩子很快就能跟上。熟悉以后可以换成学过的“Two cups.”，比一比两个和三个。指一指、说一个词都算参与，不用一次记住全部单词。
“Three ___.” uses three to say how many: when there are two or more, we usually add s to the name, so kite becomes kites and drum becomes drums.
