小象在苹果树下摆好野餐，朋友们一个个来啦：荡着藤条的小猴子、落在野餐篮上的小鸟、捧着蜂蜜罐的小熊、从树后探出头的小兔子、跑过来的小狗、懒洋洋的小猫、摇摇摆摆的小鸭子，还有从野餐篮里钻出来的小老鼠——最后大家挤在一起：My friends! 听一听“My friend bear.”，和孩子一起说说身边的好朋友。不用识字，也不用准备图卡。
Little Elephant sets up a picnic under the apple tree, and his friends arrive one by one: a monkey swinging on a vine, a bird landing on the picnic basket, a bear with a jar of honey, a bunny peeking out from behind the tree, a puppy, a sleepy cat, a waddling duck and a little mouse popping out of the picnic basket. At the end they all squeeze together: “My friends!” Listen for “My friend bear.” and name your own friends together. Start with two or three words; pointing counts as joining in.

“My friend ___.” 是一个很好用的句框：换一个动物、换一个名字，孩子就能说出一句完整的话。家里的毛绒玩具、绘本里的动物都可以拿来练。指一指、说名字都算参与，不用一次记住全部单词，愿意开口时再跟着说。
“My friend ___.” is a handy sentence frame: swap in a new animal or a name and your child has a whole sentence. Soft toys and picture-book animals work well for practice. Pointing and naming count as joining in; there is no need to remember every word at once.
